Passport delay threatens farmers’ income

CONCERN is growing among Scottish farmers waiting for replacement passports for cattle.

They have been referred to the British Cattle Movement Service at Workington in Cumbria for the replacement, but are worried that any delay in processing could cost them several hundred pounds.

A delay might push their cattle past the over-30 month deadline and force them into the OTMS scheme instead of being sold for human consumption.
