Plough acquisition

VOGEL & Noot, the Austrian plough and cultivation equipment manufacturer, has acquired a majority holding in Niemeyer Landmaschinen.

Niemeyer products – ploughs and an extensive range of grassland equipment – are sold in Britain by Opico, which only last year took over the range from Amazone. Vogel & Noots wares are vended by Vogel & Noot (UK), based at North Walsham, Norfolk.

Terms and future plans have not been disclosed but one of the prime motivations for the acquisition is claimed to be an opportunity to reduce manufacturing costs through economies of scale.

Vogel &Noot now has a majority holding in Niemeyer.
