Plough parts can tackle toughest soils
AGRICARB now produces a range of wearing parts designed to allow ploughs and cultivators to be used in highly abrasive soils.
Made of wear-resistant tungsten carbide, Agricarb claims the parts last up to 10 times longer than conventional components.
The tungsten carbide is obtained by the reduction of an ore called Wolfram which also offers good heat resistance, says Agricarb.
Cementing tungsten powder with carbon produces a tungsten carbide powder with grains as hard, it is claimed, as diamond.
The patented parts can be fitted to cultivation equipment using the companys own brazing process (020-7235 5330).
