Pollution threatens Grasmere

Pollution threatens Grasmere
LAKE Grasmere, in Cumbria, is in danger of dying from pollution.
It is being poisoned by phosphate produced from an inadequate sewage system and farm waste from the fells. Toxic pollutants are attacking fish and fauna.
Worried residents of the village, who have formed the Clean Lake for Grasmere group, fear that the lake will be unable to sustain any life if radical work is not carried out to restore the natural ecosystem.
