Portable kit makes hose repair simple

IN-FIELD, hydraulic hose mending within 15min is the claim for a new repair kit.

The Hosecomatic kit, from Spaldings, comprises a crimper tool, vice, measuring gauge, collapsible hacksaw, crimping oil, and a selection of 1/2in and 3/8in bore fittings to fit BSP and JIC thread types. Spare fittings are also available from Spaldings.

To effect the repair, the damaged area of hose is cut out and a mender fitting placed over the two ends. The mender is then crimped on with the kit tool to complete the join.
