SAFE and efficient recycling of organic materials is a key area of interest for a new group of East Anglian research organisations.
Pathway brings together the field and laboratory research expertise of AgroChemical Experiment-ation, Envirofield, Ecopt and Levington Laboratories, says Ecopts Ian Richards.
Facilities on offer include field trials, soil coring, pot trials, the use of lysimeters and growth chambers and laboratory experimentation.
"Effective crop nutrition is the key to farm profitability and fertiliser use will have to be better integrated with nutrient recycling," says Mr Richards. "This means recycled material, such as composts and sewage sludge, must be brought to the same level of effectiveness and reliability as manufactured fertilisers." *
