Riband takes top winter wheat spot
A HOME-GROWN Cereals Authority survey showed Riband accounted for nearly 23% of winter wheat sown in the UK using certified seed last autumn.
Home-saved seed was not included in the survey. The next most popular variety was Consort with plantings as high as 17%.
Regina took more than 22% of the certified seed winter barley area. Intro followed with 12.9% and Fighter 10.2%. Gerald took almost 60% of the winter oat area.
