Robot washer…
HOW would you like to take the pressure out of pressure-washing pig pens? A robot launched at Agromek does just that.
The Clever Cleaner robot developed by Ramsta Robotics works by storing data on how to wash each pig pen, explained the companys Jan Sandberg.
"Initially the robot must be taught how to clean a pen. This is done by an operator cleaning the pen using a joystick on the robot. The movement sequence is then stored for future reference."
Guides are used on each pen to ensure the robot is correctly positioned. Mr Sandberg added that it can remove 80% of muck, leaving some to be cleaned manually. It costs £15,000.
