Sainsbury censured over organic claims
SAINSBURYS has been censured by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) over claims about organic food, reports The Independent.
It claimed no chemicals are used to produce organic food, it costs “a little more” and is “good for you” and that organic livestock farming does not use veterinary medicine.
It has now been asked to delete these claims from publicity booklets.
Sainsbury said it believed its statements were correct was seeking a meeting with the ASA.
