Self-analysis Rings Changes For HGCA

Key findings from over 100 consultations with HGCA stakeholders include a need for better communications and more response to industry needs.

As a result of the review, three new departments have been formed to remove duplication, control costs and meet customer needs.

Customer communications aims to improve understanding of levy-payer needs, enabling the HGCA to deliver information and services in the most relevant form.

Crop marketing will bring together British Cereal Exports, British Cereal products and Market Information. It will promote consumption of UK grain and oilseeds at home and abroad, and give growers, merchants and processors marketing information.

Research and development will include the management of the Recommended List, recently revised to give greater focus on growing for end use.

A new area, business development, will concentrate on securing funds to supplement levy-payer income
