Sheep club row ends up in court

A DEBATE became so heated at one meeting of the North Talisker Sheep Stock Club Co-operative Society that the row ended up at Portree Sheriff Court.

Mr Danny MacLeod, of Portnalong, the then chairman of the sheep stock club, succeeded in winning a libel claim against another crofter.

Mr Macleods claim centred on allegations of theft of sheep food, and claims that another crofter followed and spied on the society chairman from a church.
