TRADITIONAL Shorthorn breeding and red-and-white Holstein bloodlines combined to form the mainstay of the type and production of the Thornthwaite herd which was dispersed at Chipping Norton, Oxon.

Bidding reached 1050gns for a 50% Dairy Shorthorn third calver. From the herds Lady Rosedale family, she was by Pigeonwood Red, a 25% MRI son of Romandale Real Red. Giving 30kg a day from a March calving, she joined A J Goaman, Shebbear, North Devon.
