South Korea extends BSE testing
By FWi staff
SOUTH Korea has announced that it is to extend BSE tests and revise feed laws, reports the Financial Times.
BSE tests will be expanded to cover more than 1000 cattle per year compared to 600 carried out in the past five years.
And new laws to be introduced next month will ban feed containing animal parts and food leftovers to ruminant animals.
Ministers say 3267 cattle have been fed food scraps. Of those 2,301 are still alive, but none have tested positive for BSE.
