Soya meal slide continues

IMPORTED soyabean meal was the biggest mover on the ruminant straights market again this week, dropping a further £9 to £186/ tonne.
Analysts continue to forecast a tightening of soyabean supplies from the USA, but say this will be balanced by a large South American harvest.
The other major protein straight, home-produced rape meal, remained unchanged in price at £135/ t.
Two more straights have made a welcome return to the market this week, although price changes of listed stocks were restricted to three commodities.
Home-produced distillers dried pellets and domestic maize gluten are both back on tap, selling for £141 and £97/ t respectively.
Imported maize gluten dropped in price by £2 to £89/ t in response to interest in domestic supplies.
The only price increases were citrus pulp, which climbed by £3 to £62/ t; and palm kernel, which climbed £4 to £59/ t.
