Stags plans multiple-herd first
By FWi staff
THE FIRST ever multiple herd cattle auction could take place later this year, according to west country auctioneer Stags, who plans to hold what it terms a “unique auctioneering concept”.
The sale should include about 10-12 complete herds, which will be sold centrally from a sale room in Devon, after viewing.
“We hope to arrange the event for the autumn,” says the firms Richard Pringle. “We already have a number of vendors keen on the idea, both regionally and nationally.”
Whole-herd sales might prove popular with buyers and sellers alike, because of the benefits of keeping groups of animals together, says the auctioneer.
