Sticky end for flies

FARMYARD flies could face a sticky end inside dairy, pig and broiler units thanks to a range of glue traps from Somerset-based Nordic Star.

The Flyson traps come in ribbon, stick, roll and tube versions and are intended to be a more environmentally friendly than fly-killing sprays.

Nordic Star says the traps work most effectively when placed in locations such as windowsills, ledges and around beams.

The 400m ribbon is designed to wind out from an overhead wall-mounted reel and is capable of enticing and trapping over 150,000 flies, says Nordic Star (0800-7319465).
