STOCKING FILLER BY THE BOOK

IF YOU are struggling to decide what to fill the childrens stocking with this Christmas, then cast an eye over a new *book by Sally K Marsh.

The author is a former winner of Farmlifes annual Veronica Frater Memorial Contest, and this is her first book to be published by Stockwell.

It contains three delightful stories aimed at five to six-year-olds.

The first story is a charming and imaginative Christmas tale based on an old wives tale, about a little boy called Alex and his Gran who explains the real reason why moths are drawn to bright lights.

In Shellys Birthday, Shelly wonders why her best friend, Lucy, doesnt want to go to her birthday party.

The final story is a light-hearted tale about Bill, the not-so-clever burglar, and his search for more honest employment.

The stories are well told in a style and language that children will readily warm to and enjoy – perfect for that fireside story-telling session after the Christmas pudding has been served.

*Alexs Moth, Shellys Birthday and Bill the Burglar by Sally K Marsh, Stockwell, £2.50.
