Sugar fertiliser boosts spud yields
POTATO yields can be boosted by 10-15% with Fulcrum CRV giving a five-fold return on input cost, says Liverpool-based manufacturer SvG Intermol. Applied at the stolon initiation phase, the sugar-based foliar fertiliser provides the plant with extra energy at the start of tuber bulking, when demand for sugar greatly exceeds supply from photosynthesis, explains Intermols Phil Holder. A recommended rate application of 30 litres/ha in 200 litres/ha of water costs £67.50/ha. *
