Tackling stress in countryside
RURAL stress and isolation will be tackled by a project being funded by the Health Education Authority for World Mental Health Day (Oct 10).
"Stress in the Countryside", which is being organised by a variety of groups in East Yorks, is one of 42 projects to share £30,000 HEA funding to mark the day. The project will highlight that almost 200 farmers and nine vets took their own lives between 1991-1996 and that farming has one of the highest suicide rates. *
