Take a firm grip on bolt tightening
SECURE fixings in concrete, brick and stone can be made, says Spaldings, using its latest range of Truecraft expanding bolts.
Key to the bolts success is the use of a stainless steel tapered expander unit which, when inserted into its hole, grips the hole as the bolt is tightened.
Two types are available – "through bolts" which use a nut and "loose bolts" which require a bolt to be screwed into an expander body. In a range of sizes from 10-16mm, the bolts cost from £9.04 a pack of 10 (01522-500600).
