A Regancrest Dolman daughter sold for the top price of 8000gns at the sale to disperse Adrian and Julie Hinton’s Wentwood herd last week.

BB Dolman Candice 3, one of a consignment from Bev and Teresa Baker included in the sale, is bred from three generations of Excellent cows and is descended from Tom and Andy Cope’s famous show/brood cow, Harvdale Charles Candice EX-94 5*. She is two-and-a-half weeks calved, giving 36kg/day and sold to Messrs Harries and Thomas, Bryn.

At the next best money was an Indianhead cow, Mandelin Rachel Red from the Wentwood herd, which sold for 3800gns to V N and M E Thomas, Plas Farm, Carmarthen.

Averages: Wentwood and Sky, 36 cows and calved heifers £1943, four served heifers £1562, eight maiden heifers £1252. BB consignment six calved heifers £3176, two maiden heifers £2887 (Norton and Brooksbank).
