The National Cattle Association faces liquidation

Members of the National Cattle Association (NCA) have voted for its liquidation.

At an extraordinary meeting where the vote took place, beef breed societies, along with commercial breeders, feeders and finishers have been invited to join the National Beef Association. The dairy breed societies have drawn up plans to form their own federation.

The meeting heard that the NCAs surplus assets, estimated at less
than £ 14,000, should be distributed to the National Beef Association and the Jersey Cattle Society. The JCS is acting as a temporary fund holder until the dairy sector representative body is launched.
