Three-point link lets telehandler run implements

IT may seem a strange concept to use a telehandler to operate a mounted implement, but Merlo has equipped its MultiFarmer 30.6 machine with a three-point linkage and a front and rear pto.
With a lift capacity rated at 4000kg, light work is the order of the day, although the 116hp MultiFarmer is claimed to be capable of operating small ploughs and cultivation kit.
The three-point linkage has electro-hydraulic control and can be operated in both draft and control positions.
A maximum oil flow of 107 litres/min is produced by a tandem gear pump. This is divided into two sections for operating the three-point linkage and boom.
The loader is also supplied with front and rear spool valves and a Quick Attach carriage designed to provide attachment for a range of implements.
To help offset the weight of rear-mounted implements, the loader is fitted with a side-mounted engine and a forward boom pivot point.
Despite the draft advantages of a mechanical gearbox, Merlo has retained the loaders three speed hydrostatic transmission which enables speed to be varied infinitely up to 40kph.
Equipped with hydraulically pivoting front and rear axles, the three-point linkage equipped MultiFarmer is due to hit UK shores later this year. *
