Training key to the modern farm
TRAINING is one of the keys to survival in the modern agricultural environment, according to a contributor to The Herald.
Rob Cockburn, training services manager of the Scottish Agricultural College, says the industry must move away from basic training and respond to the many pressures and changes taking place in the industry.
He cites issues of quality assurance, traceability, animal welfare, food quality and safety as examples where training needs have changed.
