Troubled times for Thai returnees

THAILANDS economic crisis has seen thousands of Thais leave the cities and return to the countryside.

The Thailand Development Research Institute has warned there is likely to be serious problems this year in rural areas because the dry season means farm incomes will be low. Job prospects in rural areas are also poor.

The government has been criticised for paying more attention to financiers problem rather than farmers.
