Valmets quartet debut
Valmets quartet debut
VALMET, or to be politically correct Valtra Tractors (UK) since the merger of Sisu and Partek this year, is to introduce four new tractors to replace the M5 range.
Kicking off the M100 line-up is the 60hp 600 with its three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. More power – 70hp for the 700 – is created via a turbocharger. The four-cylinder 80hp 800 is followed by a turbo-charged four-cylinder 90hp 900 model.
Main changes for the new range revolve around a redesigned cab which, as expected, provides good visibility, driver access and comfort. Standard heating and ventilation directs warm air to the feet, but, as an option (standard on the 900), with consideration for other parts of the anatomy, Valmet is prepared to fit a heater or an air-conditioning unit in the roof.
A digital display can also be specified, providing information including forward speed, pto speed and transmission temperature.
Transmissions extend to a choice of three: 8 x 4, 12 x 8 with creeper gear and a 16 x 8 box. The latter option, which is standard on 800 and 900 models, incorporates a new splitter to provide a 15% overdrive. *
Four-model M100 range from Valtra Tractors (UK) spans the 60-90hp sector.
