‘Vicious killers’ on the rampage in Hampshire

MORE than 3000 “vicious killers” were still estimated to be on the rampage in the New Forest, Hampshire, where mink were released by animal activists at the weekend.

“The mink are everywhere,” said PC Rob Ellis, a wildlife liaison officer with Hampshire police. “You name it, they have been there.”

The police were hosting an emergency meeting of landowners and Government and conservation agencies to discuss strategy to combat the mink menace. The mink were released from a Ringwood fur farm.
