Vicons big mower
VICON has moved into the high capacity mower sector with the development of a 9m DMP9001 triple mower combination.
The model employs a 3m front-mounted FMT3000 disc mower conditioner and two rear KMT3001 units carried on a hydraulically folding frame.
All three units have an identical suspension/float system and there is the option to produce three single swaths or a single 9m carpet.
Maximum workrate for the outfit, claims Vicon, is up to 10ha/hour (25 acres) using a 190hp tractor.
Also new from Vicon is the companys 15m wide four-rotor Andex 1503 rake. Claimed to be the widest model in the UK, the rake is designed to cover up to 17ha/hour (42 acres) and gather five 3m swaths into one.
The rake can also gather 15m (50ft) of grass which has been spread out to wilt.
In the baler department, Vicon now offers a 23-knife Opticut system which can be fitted to the RF130 fixed chamber, RF130 Balepack and variable chamber RV1601/1901 round balers.
The Opticut system has knives arranged in two groups, allowing the operator to select either a group of 11 or 12 blades. *
Workrates of up to 10ha/hour are claimed for Vicons 9m mower combination.
What is causing all the interest? Blue skies and bone dry soil at Roots 2002 last week provided ideal working conditions for companies to demonstrate their latest root crop cultivation and planting kit. See pages 62 and 80 for the shows agronomy and machinery report.
