Video: Open Farm Sunday launches animated film to promote event

An animated video has been produced to show the public what they can look forward to when they visit a farm on Open Farm Sunday.

In less than three weeks’ time, hundreds of farms across the country will be opening their gates on Sunday 7 June to teach visitors about food production and countryside management.

Organisers Leaf (Linking Environment and Farming) are urging members of the public to watch the video the video explaining all about Open Farm Sunday 2015 – and then visit the website to find their nearest farm to plan a visit.

Each event is unique with activities ranging from farm walks and machinery displays, to sheep shearing and milking demonstrations. Most of the events are free.

“Every farm, regardless of size or type, has something to offer on Open Farm Sunday. The everyday farming activities are exciting and fascinating to people experiencing it for the first time,” said Annabel Shackleton, Leaf’s Open Farm Sunday manager.

“Whether you invite 20, 200 or 2,000 visitors to your farm, your event can help build community relations, educate the public and raise the profile of your farm and the whole farming industry. It is up to farmers to decide the size and type of event they organise, to suit their farm.”
