Warm welcome in north-east…

AS I hadnt visited the Northumberland FWC since 1995, I decided to take a flying visit. I left home in sunshine but the weather was cool on arrival at Newcastle airport, however the welcome was warm and it was great to be met by Dorcas Forster and Dorothy Johnson.

I love the local sayings I come across in various parts of the country. We travelled along the "uppy-downy" roads the following day to visit Judith Longlands delightful garden, nestling at Rushey Law, out on the moors. Luckily it was "hitty-missy" as we drove along narrow lanes, otherwise how would members explain on their return home that three cars were damaged as drivers raced to meet their friends for tea?

Unfortunately the weather was not too good, but we managed to view the marvellous variety of plants and came away with more knowledge about plants and certainly replenished by the contribution tea.
