Wash away those fears of foot-rot

TACKLE virulent foot-rot by regularly foot bathing sheep in Hoof-Rite from Osmonds, now available in a biodegradable liquid.

Containing mycocidal acids, herbs and ionised mixed metal salts, the company says infected sheep should be treated on three consecutive occasions – after which the dip solution should be changed – every two to four weeks.

Feet should be cleaned to increase solution penetration before bathing in a 2% solution. Hoof-Rite costs £25.50 for a five-litre drum and £95 for a 25-litre drum from merchants and vets (01482-665781, fax 01482-665782).
