Welsh farmers continue protests

WELSH farmers held simultaneous protests last night outside two abattoirs and a food-processing factory.

About 50 farmers tried to persuade lorry drivers not to make deliveries to an abattoir at Llanidloes in Powys. A similar protest took place outside an abattoir at Gaerwen, Anglesey.

Meanwhile, a third group of farmers picketed the premises of Welsh Country Foods at St Asaph, Clywd.
