Wild boars plague French
A “PLAGUE of pigs” has laid siege to some parts of France, reports The Independent.
The sangliers, or wild boar, are now costing the government £12.5 million in compensation to farmers for damage caused by the animals running amok.
The National Hunting Office estimates the French boar population at 700,000, nine times the total 25 years ago.
