William Cook acquired

THE merry-go-round of companies expanding through acquisition continues – and it is a trend not confined to the large multi-nationals. Latest move on this front is the news that Richie Farm Equipment has bought William Cook Engineers from Simba International.

Through the Cook acquisition, Richie gains bale sledges, grabs and bale unrollers which, it says, fit neatly into its own lines of grassland products. These include the Traileyre bale trailer range, flat eight-bale sledge, bale grab and a bale unroller – plus general livestock handling and feeding equipment.

Richie has already started manufacturing this seasons Cook products at its Forfar factory. As to overlapping products, both ranges of bale sledges and wrapped bale unrollers will continue to be produced as will, for the present at least, will the bale grabs.
