FARMER-owned WMF is combining its seed production and marketing arm with Proleaf Seeds, which until now has been operated by Profarma and CWS Agriculture from Goole, Yorks.
An estimated 25,000-30,000t will be marketed under the Proleaf name next autumn, making it the fifth largest seed brand in the UK.
No money is changing hands. The move, which will see seeds produced at WMFs site in Melksham, Wilts going into Proleaf bags, will strengthen the brands position in the south and west. WMF customers will gain access to Profarmas Protex trials information on new varieties, seed treatments and hybrid crops. *
