Women rule the roost in the farmyard

WOMEN are putting a new entrepreneurial spirit into the farmyard, delegates were told at a London conference.

The World Rural Womens Day conference in London, organised by the National Farmers Union, reported that women are taking an increasingly high profile role in agriculture.

Women now outnumber men on agricultural courses: 2,500 women to 2,000 men last year.
