THE Grassland 2002 event on May 22 and 23 promises to be a bumper time for exhibitors and visitors alike as manufacturers continue to announce a plethora of new machinery.
Lelys contribution comprises the first public demonstration of its Splendimo 321 PC trailed mower conditioner which has a cutting width of 3.2m
Lower in price than the companys centrally pivoting mower – the 320 PCN which can cut on either side of the tractor – the new model is equipped with an eight-unit cutting bed suspended in a parallelogram linkage with spring suspension.
Cutting is performed by contra-rotating twin bladed discs while the conditioning element employs plastic fingers. An adjustable deflector plate is said to provide an airy, even swath.
Lely is now also marketing the Goweil round baler wrapper combination which can wrap bales with diameters from 90cm to 160cm using a double arm wrapper system.
The company says that most round balers can be mounted in the wrappers tandem axle frame and linking parts are available to allow new balers to be fitted. *
