Caught on camera: your poultry snowed under

The snow and ice that has covered Britain over the past few days has been well documented by our followers on Twitter, a selection sharing pictures and stories of birds struggling in the cold conditions.
Free-range producer and Twitter user @fordythefarmer shared the photograph above, saying that despite the snow being on the ground for four days, the birds still hadn’t ventured out on to it. Who could blame them?
And @Whitehouse_Farm tweeted a picture of three snow-covered birds looking cold and confused.
Meanwhile, backyard chicken keeper @chooksandroots said that, on letting her birds out on Friday morning, they simply returned to the coop in disgust.
And Poultry World editor Phil Clarke snapped this flighty bird (above) posing on top of a snowman.
