Livestock farmers at the Royal Show have reacted angrily to the news that DEFRA is expected to reject calls for a badger cull.
Speaking to Farmers Weekly, farmers at the show’s stock lines said they were “disappointed” Hilary Benn had taken the decision to ignore scientific evidence regarding a cull.
One Lincolnshire beef farmer said farmers had been “left without a hand in their own destiny”, and was worried how businesses would survive.
