The CFE Calculator, exclusive to the pilot edition of Crops Digital, sums up the points of in-field options available through the Entry Level Stewardship (ELS) Scheme.
Designed as a quick-reference planning tool, it helps arable farmers assess which of the CFE options are best suited to their farms.
"We wanted a tool that allows growers to tell exactly how many points each in-field option would contribute to their ELS total," said Crops editor Richard Allison.
The calculator we've designed forms part of an interactive guide that gives growers the pros, cons and management essentials of the CFE options.
"This creates a really useful practical guide for our readers to help them do their bit to ensure the industry meets the CFE targets - it's an excellent way to launch the pilot digital edition of Crops."
The entire 52-page Cereals edition of Crops (19 June) has been made available to view online via revolutionary page-turning technology.
The exclusive CFE section also includes specially commissioned media-rich content, such as videos that provide management guidelines on establishing sown mixtures, and audio clips of what other farmers are doing to meet CFE targets.
Extra video has been built into the Cereals report, while hyperlinks, included in features and promotions, are live and can be followed straight through to the relevant webpage.
"Flick through to the back page and you'll be able to enter our competition to win three month's use of a New Holland tractor on Trelleborg tyres," said Dr Allison.
This pilot digital edition complements the printed version, which has a legacy of tackling the cutting-edge technical issues, added Dr Allison.
"We'll be looking closely at how it is received by our readers to decide how to take it forward," he said.
