2950gns top for Western Holsteins

Holstein breeders enjoyed another succesful day at Beeston yesterday when the Western Holstein Club’s sale attracted a top price of 2950gns for a heifer by Moet Trystar.

Topping the sale was Bidlea Trystar Tagasling from Ray Brown and Partners of Holmes Chapel. Buying this one was Roger Stafford of Haverfordwest, Wales who took a total of 15 cattle on the day.

Second top on the day was a 2650gns call for Dunston Ocean Useful, a heifer by Smiddiehill Ocean giving 39.5kg from Betholt Ltd of Stafford. Taking this one home were J L and E M Parker and Son, Haughton.

Topping the cow trade was a 2600gns sale for the reserve champion on the day. Stokehall Norma 32 from Jack and Barclay Taylor of Myddle, Shrewsbury. This second calver is by Roylane Jordan and gave 8000kg as a heifer. This one headed home with Roger Brooks, Wettenhall, Winsford.

Next in line at 2500gns was the day’s champion a second calved cow by Actonfarm Bestmate from Graham and Barbara Bell. This one was bought by west Wales buyer Edward Daviees, Tenby.

Among the bulls on offer the top call was a 2400gns sale for Bidlea Zulu from Ray Brown. This one is a son of Penn-England Garrison and was bought by F H Cookson and Sons of Altrincham.
