Wedderlie Texel dispersal hits 1800gns
The dispersal of the adult portion of Wedderlie flock of Texels for the Campbell family saw a top price of 1800gns paid for stock ram Llyfni Owi. this Haremoss North Star son is out of a dam by Craighead Hercules and sold to Tom and James Whitefoot, Tercrosset, Brampton.
Following that at 1700gns was the best of the flock ewes, a 2007-born Garngour Ken daughter out of a dam by Alwent King Charles. She was bought by R Bell and Co, Kelso. Then at 1400gns was another of the stock tups, Goldies Oliver. This is a Turin Hardy son out of a Straidarran Legacy daughter. He was bought by J Tullie, Teviothead, Hawick.
Making 1020gns was a 2008-born Garngour Ken daughter out of a dam by Alwent King Charles. She sold to N Crighton, Berwick-upon-Tweed. Just shy of that at 1000gns was another Ken daughter, this time a 2007-born ewe out of a dam by Stonebridge Jackass. She sold with an index of 242 and went to Willie Dunlop, Elmscleugh, Dunbar.
Selling at 850gns was another 2007-born Ken daughter, this one was again out of a Stonebridge Jackass sired dam and was bought by Caroline Roots, Castle Douglas. a pair sold at 820gns, the first being another by Ken, this time a 2007-born ewe out of a King Charles-sired dam. This one also went to Elmscleugh.
Following on at the same money was an King Charles daughter out of a dam by Callerton Gambia. This 2007-born ewe sold to R Bell and Co. And making 800gns was the last of the older ewes, another by Ken and out of a King Charles-sired dam. She went to Richard Wood, Tweedsmuir, Biggar.
