£2020 call leads Skipton monthly dairy sale

Top call at this week’s Skipton Dairy Sale was a £2020 sale for the second prize fresh-calved heifer from Malcolm and Robert Swires, Beckwithshaw. She sold to Alan Outram, Bury.

This one was one of 10 entered by the Swires which levelled  the day at £1756, with the champion also coming from their entry.  This one is by Myersdale Principal and was sold giving 32.5 litres a day and went at £1980 to Ken Liversedge, Wilberfoss. The reserve champion was the first prize second calved cow from Gordon Beresford, of Green Farm, Halton West, which joined Wick Williams, Nantwich, for £1840.
