Roskilly dispersal sees a cow and calf top 3,130gns

Franklin Marshall and Company reported a successful sale of South Devons during the dispersal of the Roskilly Herd of Mr D Moss, Adlington.

The sale at Chelford Market saw the top price of 3,130gns go to a cow and calf outfit – March 2007 born cow Halsall Safflorite and her heifer calf Roskilly Safflorite.  The cow sold for 1,630gns to Messrs Atkin, Eccleshall, Stafford, and teh calf sold for 1,500gns to Messrs Salt, Uttoexete, Stafford.

Other leading prices during the sale were 1,460gns for Halsall Buttercup 13, a March 2007 born daughter of Grove Germanicus, scanned 3-4 monhts in-calf to Illya 13.  This one went to Nigel Potts, Over Alderley, Macclesfield.  While another heifer calf, Roskilly Duchess 1, sold to Messrs Atkin for 1,010gns.

Averages: in-calf cows ÂŁ1,276.80; heifer calves ÂŁ955.50; bull calves ÂŁ719.20.
