Bankside Limousin dispersal tops at £2,031.15

The dispersal of the Bankside Herd of pedigree Limousin cattle on behalf of Humphrey and Carol Connor was the main attraction at Bakewell for the monthly store cattle fixture this week.  The sale featured 68 Pedigree cattle on behalf of the Connors with the cows and calves averaging £2,031.15 and selling to a top price of £3,200 for the herds stock bull. 

DSC00527.JPGThreaphurst Felix is a son of Cloughhead Umpire and was two years old and sold to David Twigg, Bradwell.  Top price cow was £2,650 for Bankside Emblem, a first calver with a December born son at foot that sold to C Cooper, Rotherham.  

Two cows sold for £2,600, both of which were second calvers and both by Threaphurst Aramis.  They make their new homes in Boston, Lincolnshire and Malton, York.  In calf cows topped at £1,500 for a six year old cow due in November whilst maiden heifers sold to £2,200 for a 15 month old Threaphurst Dynamite daughter that sold to Mr R Catlin, Brotherloft.

Averages for the dispersal:

26 cows and calves average £2,031.15

7 in calf cows average £1,374.28

8 yearling heifers average £1,520.00

1 stock bull average £3,200.00
