Polsham dairy dispersal hits 2,050gns

The second on-farm sale for the dispersal of M J Coles’s commercial dairy herd at Polsham Farm, Wells, saw a top of 2,050gns.

Purchasers from Devon to Herefordshire compelled with strong local support produced an excellent trade for fresh milk which topped at 2,050gns for the July calved 2nd calver giving 35.0 kgs.

At 2,000gns was a August second calver by Hidden-View Best An August 3rd calver by the same sire made 1,900gns. The bull Ciderhouse Fashion had been widely used in the herd and his progeny sold well reaching 1,900gns for a 3rd calver giving 45.5 kgs.

In-calf heifers due in the Autumn to the Pedigree Hereford sold to 1,640gns and 1,480gns for a Butler-Butz Sam Angler daughter. Recently served heifers by Embryoworld Moviestar reached 1200gns.

The five year old Red and White Holstein Bull Marcroft Buddy Red sold for 1,380gns and yearling heifers by him reached 660gns.
