Stilring Bull Sales 2012: Charolais sale

Just minutes to go before the first bull goes through ring. The ringside is packed with prospective buyers.

So far top price goes to Lot 669 Laverock Fireball from W Richardson and sons. The son of Clonoulty Andraemon sells for 7,000gns.


Supreme champion Wissington Genius (Lot 678, from Mrs R Rix sells for 9,500gns. This Gretnahouse Ultimate sonhas a TSI of +62 and a SRI of +63. He was reserve male interbreed at the South of England Show this year and is out of Wssington Delight.



(Lot 688) Thrunton Galaxy, from J H C Campbell and sons sells for 12,000gns. A son of Balmyle Dickler he is out of Thrunton Aphrodite.



(Lot 697) Vexour Garth has sold for a record 100,000gns. The bull, from J Boomaars is a son of Dingle Hofmeister and has tremendous figures, with a TSI and SRI rating of +71 and +74 respectively.



(Lot 709) Woodpack Gregg from W Short sells at 9,500gns. He is a Doonally New son and is out of Greyoak Rachel.



(Lot 715) Harestone Glenlivet, son of Goldies Unbeatable, forward from N R Barclay sells for 12,000gns.



(Lot 723) Intermediate Champion Cardean Guardsman, by Oldstone Egbert sells for 9,000gns. Forward from A Ivory he is out of Cardean Snowdrop.



Reserve Intermediate champion Thrunton Gabriel (Lot 725), from J H C Campbell and sons sells for 13,000gns.



(Lot 737) Thrunton Goldtsar, from J H C Campbells and sons goes under the hammer for 9,500gns.



And the bulls continue to sell well here, with Lot 742 Thrunton Geraldo, of the same home selling for 9,000gns.



And J H C Campbells continue to have a good run, with Lot 746 Thrunton Goldsmith selling to R Watkins, of Abergavenny, for 10,000gns.



Lot 757, Elrick Gallant has just sold for 15,000gns. This Maerdy Dublin son is out of Blelack Ophelia and has a TSI of +62 and a SRI of +56.



Junior champion (Lot 802) from G Henderson sells for 5,000gns. This Sportsman Columbo son is out of Sandelford Tessa and was male champion at the NI Charolais Show.



Reserve Junior champion (Lot 808) Glencoe Galliant, from Mrs V McDonald trumps the champion, selling for 13,000gns.

One of the first Plexus sons, he is out of Glencoe Dong and took home the same title at Balmoral Show.



Lot 774 Balthayock Gunner ET, from Major Walter, Perth, sells for 17,000gns.

The Balbithan Vespasian son is out of Balthayock Undine and has a TSI and SRI of +56.



Lot 783 Blackford Gladiator, from A Macpherson sells for 17,000gns. The May 2011-born son of Newhouse Bigal, who is out of Blackford Celia was second in his class.



One of the favourites Ashby Gucci (Lot 803), from D Noton sells for 14,000gns. The May 2011-born bull is by Talisman and is out of Gretnahouse Caresse.  



Lot 812 Maerdy Gent from D E Evans, Mold also sells for 14,000gns. The son of Blelack Digger is out of Maerdy Debutante.



The hotly-tipped Barnsford Gorse bull (Lot 823), from T and S Gather goes through the ring unsold at 8,500gns.

First in his class he is a full brother to Barnsford Ferny, which sold for 70,000gns last year at Stirling. Sired by Balmyle Bollinger, his dam is Alwent Broom, who remains unbeaten, claiming five overall beef championships.



FEMALES



In the female section so far, the heifer Vexour Flirt (Lot 827), from Mr J Boomaars tops at 4,200gns. Having been awarded the rosette for champion female, she was also a first prize winner at the Great Yorkshire. She is sired by Blelack Crusader and is out of Vexour Beth.



A cow and calf (Lot 854) forward from Miss A MacPherson sells for 8,500gns. Daughter of Burradon Talisman, Blackford Debbie is four-years-old. 

Her male calf, Hercules is four-months-old and is by Newhouse Bigal.
