Ruthin show potentials reach £5000

 

2322013 Ruthin Lot 58 web.JPGA June-born Limousin-cross heifer from J and A Lewis, Llanwrda made the top price of £5000 at the sale of show potential cattle at Ruthin Auction Mart. The heifer took the reserve heifer title under judge Erfyl Edwards and was bought by Stillmans of Somerset.

 

 

2322013 Ruthin Lot 26 web.jpgAn April-born British Blue heifer from J Hughes, Anglesey made £4500 to G R Fountain, Milton Keynes while a £3400 call from H Parry Anglesey secured a Charolais-cross heifer from Welshpool vendors Bowen and Bowen. 

 

2322013 Ruthin Lot 81 web.JPGThe heifer championship went to a Limousin-cross heifer from Dai Brute at Brecon. Buyer at £3000 was G P Brooke, Worcester. 

 

2322013 Ruthin Lot 4 web .JPGLeading the steers at £3000 was a Limousin sired entry out of a Limousin x British Blue cow from T and E Williams, Lanidloes. Buyer was Mr Fountain. Another pure-bred British Blue entry from Anglesey vendor Mr Hughes took the reserve steer title and made £2500 to R D Anderson, Leyburn, North Yorkshire. Collecting the steer championship for Denbigh vendors Messrs Howatson and Son was a British Blue-cross that made £2200 to A Roberts, Anglesey.

 

Averages: 39 steers £1308 and 27 heifers £1825.
