Wigton champion tops trade at £3,200

Nearly 1,000 cattle were forward at Wigton Auction Martsshow and sale of store cattle last week.

Continental cattle met an electric trade according toauctioneers Hopes of Wigton resulting in a sale average of £1,027. Leadingtrade with a £3,200 bid was the British Blue champion heifer forward from Iand N Grainger, Kiln Close. This was a record price at the auction.

The Grainger’salso produced the reserve champion, a Limousin heifer which realised £1,700.
