Hoggs sell to 227p/kg at Sedgemoor

A larger entry of 732 Hoggs were forward at Sedgemoor Auction Centre selling to a stronger trade throughout particularly for the heavier types. However, very lean hoggs were generally more difficult to sell.

The best sold to 227p/kg from Messrs R J and L A Mitchell and Voke, with other top priced lots selling to 219p/kg from Messrs R R Creed and son Son; 213p/kg from Messrs A A, L and R Johnson; 212p/kg from Messrs V J and M J Headon; 210p/kg from Messrs M J and G M Summers; 210p/kg from Messrs A F and R D Tucker and Sons; 209p/kg from Mr W S Stitch and Messrs F J and M J Hodges; 208p/kg from Messrs R G Drew and Sons and 207p/kg from R Stevens and Co and P Coombs.

Heavier hoggs sold to £120 and £111 from Messrs F H Chave and Son. Others sold to £111 from Mr E Woollacott; £110 from Mr T HJ Denbee; £107 from Fisher and Son and Miss V Jones; £106.50 from Mr G R H Tripp; £106 from Messrs V J and M J Headon and £105 from Messrs M J and G Summers.
